This recipe was inspired by a recent episode of Barefoot Contessa I watched one morning. I think it's such a fabulous dish to add to a dinner or cocktail party and most definitely an afternoon tea.
Ingredients:
4 egg yolks
125ml of freshly squeezed orange juice
100 grams butter (unsalted preferably)
125ml caster sugar
zest of 2 oranges
1 punnet of strawberries
Method:
- Place orange juice, zest and butter in a saucepan and melt.
- Whisk together the egg yolks and sugar.
- Slowly add the butter mixture into egg mixture.
- Place the mix back into the saucepan and simmer for a few minutes until thick and gloopy
- Let it set in the fridge
- Serve on a pleasant looking plate adorned with strawberries.
